Blackwing Lair - Boss Guide[]
Blackwing Lair is a 6 Encounter raid ending with the notorious Lord Victor Nefarius (Nefarian) <Lord of Blackrock>.
All bosses in Blackwing Lair drop pieces of the Tier 2 Raid Set, excluding the leg and head slots, which drop from Ragnaros and Onyxia respectively.
Broodlord Lashlayer[]

Broodlord Lashlayer is the 3rd of 6 encounters in Blackwing Lair.
Broodlord Lashlayer is a Black Drakonid in the Halls of Strife. He guards a gate that leads to the the Crimson Laboratories. Players will need to clear a path to the Boss by killing Whelps and Death Talon Hatchers to reach him.
Fighting Broodlord Lashlayer[]
Positioning[]
The Main Tank should position themselves with their back towards the gate, everybody else should be behind the Boss, with Melee DPS in the opposite corner of the gate, to mitigate the knockback effect. No DPS or Healers should not be in front or behind the Boss, due to the Boss using Cleave.
Blast Wave[]
Broodlord Lashlayer will use Blast Wave throughout the fight, occasionally knocking Players back and causes them to become slowed and take some Fire damage. Melee DPS should ideally be stacked with their back towards the corner on the gate behind the Boss to ignore this mechanic. Ranged and Healers should take this into account to avoid being interrupted.
Mortal Strike[]
Broodlord Lashlayer will use Mortal Strike which inflicts weapon damage and reduces Healing received of the Tank by 50% for 5 secs. This mechanic is largely ignorable, if you feel you are taking too much damage, use a CD for every Mortal Strike.
Knock Away[]
The Boss will use Knock Away which will do a small amount of damage and knocks the Tank back, this is why we highlight positioning above, as to negate this mechanic.
Empowered Whelp - Mythic & Ascended[]
An Empowered Whelp will appear, this must be Tanked away from the Raid by the Off-Tank.
