What is the classless system in Project Ascension?
As a Classless Hero you will be able to pick any talents or spell you want and decide your own destiny. The limitations are your character level and the amount of “Ability Essence” and “Talent Essence” you have left, as well as your imagination. You are also not limited in what kind of armor and weapons you can equip.
- “Ability Essence” and “Talent Essence” are a form of currency that will allow you to purchase spells, abilities and talents from the “Character Advancement Panel” You get one of each every time you level starting at level 10, reaching a total of 70 Ability essence and 61 Talent Essence at level 70.
- At level 1 you will start with 9 Ability Essences. Most spells and abilities cost 2 Ability Essences, but the most powerful abilities can cost 6 Ability Essence! The Classless System also let you pick a stat allocation, providing benefits unique to that allocation.
- Note that Ascension WoW is based on World of Warcraft 3.3.5 which correspond to the Wrath of the Lich King expansion pack up to the Icecrown Citadel raid. Therefore Spells, Abilities and Talents are based on this game version, but abilities that require over level 70 to learn are unavailable unless through special means.
The Character Advancement Panel
To call up the Character Advancement Panel which will allow you to pick Spells, Abilities and Talents :
- Either press the “N” key by default
- Or click on the Ascension UI panel
- There's also an icon on your minimap, in the top right corner of your screen. Clicking this icon will bring up the Character Advancement panel, same as the keybind.

Alternate way of reaching the Character Advancement panel is the micro-menu, adjacent to your action bar.
Unlearning an Ability or a Talent[]
It is possible to unlearn an Ability or a Talent for free before level 10. After level 10 you will need a Scroll of Unlearning or spend gold.
There is also the possibility to use Purges for Talents and Abilities. you can access these through the pink orb on the Ascension UI Panel or the "Reset Spells/Talents" button on the Character Advancement Panel.
Primary Stat Allocation
As well as Abilities and Talents, Ascension allows you to pick a stat allocation to give you a variety of bonuses. This is chosen on the right side of your Character Advancement Panel. You can choose between Strength, Agility, Intellect, and Spirit.
