Disenchanting is an ability that is learned with Enchanting. It will destroy a magical item of Uncommon, Rare or Epic quality and transmute it into a dust or crystal. Once destroyed, an item cannot be recovered.
On Ascension, certain items can ONLY be attained through disenchanting, among these are the new High Risk items such as the Sinister Dusk Shard. Such items are obtained through the disenchantment of Bloodforged items, an Ascension exclusive type of item which benefits High Risk players.
