What are Skill Cards in WoW Project Ascension?
Skill Cards are one of the most important and powerful tools any player has in Draft Mode, helping them shape their builds and adding a bit of certainty to what otherwise would be completely random. There are two different types of skill cards, and two different ways to obtain them. Skill Cards are guaranteed to show up while leveling, appearing on the level said ability gets unlocked, while Lucky Cards increase your chance of seeing the slotted ability. An added benefit of Lucky Cards is that they work with Hand of Fates and Swaps at maximum level, therefore if you don't get a Lucky Carded ability while leveling, there's still hope!
- You can only activate Skill / Lucky cards between the levels of 1-9.
- Whenever you learn a card, it is unlocked for every character you have on the realm and you can use it however many times you’d like to.
- You can activate up to 4 Skill Cards, although you may only slot in up to 3 Legendary, 5 Epic and 6 Rare gems worth of abilities.
- As for Lucky Cards, you can have up to 6, but the different rarity gem caps still apply, eg. you wouldn’t be able to get 6 Legendary gems worth of abilities using cards, as the hard cap is 5.

How do I obtain Cards? What do I do with duplicates?
As stated, there are two ways to obtain Cards, one being using Marks of Ascension at Silas Darkmoon, as you turn in Marks for Hands of Fate, you’ll receive a pack of 5 sealed Skill cards and 5 sealed Lucky cards with each turn in. The other is spending 50 gold for a golden Skill Card booster pack, these include 5 sealed golden Skill Cards and 5 sealed golden Lucky Skill cards. To fill out all 10 active Card slots, you’ll need a mix of both normal and golden Cards.
The price of Hands of Fate turns in start at 500 Marks and eventually go up all the way to 2500, although prestiging resets the price for your current specialization.
You’ll also notice that sometimes you get duplicates, and that’s fine! Don’t throw them away! You can talk to Professor Thaddeus Paleo who’ll convert 5 Cards of your choosing (Has to be same quality / type) and give you several sealed Cards based on the total rarity of the converted cards. He chooses randomly from Cards in your bag, so be careful not to convert anything important!

Additional information, some useful tricks
- It is recommended to use Skill Cards for higher rarity abilities and Lucky Cards for lower rarity spells if you can, as using a Lucky Card for a Common ability virtually guarantees that you get it, while there's a decent likelihood that you won't find Epic abilities that you lucky card.
- If you Lucky Card an ability you have the mastery for, it is almost guaranteed to show up. Very useful for getting abilities such as Molten / Fel Armor or Aspect of the Beast.
- If you Skill Card two abilities that show up on the same level, you’ll see the second one the next time you get offered a choice of abilities.
- You’re also able to buy back Cards you’ve had in the past but traded up at Thaddeus, this costs gold, getting more expensive as rarities go up.
- As you open up cards you’ll get a currency called Darkmoon Tickets, these can be used to purchase individual cards and cosmetic items from Silas.
