Blackwing Lair - Boss Guide[]
Blackwing Lair is a 6 Encounter raid ending with the notorious Lord Victor Nefarius (Nefarian) <Lord of Blackrock>.
All bosses in Blackwing Lair drop pieces of the Tier 2 Raid Set, excluding the leg and head slots, which drop from Ragnaros and Onyxia respectively.
Three Dragons[]
Three Dragons is the 4th of 6 encounters in Blackwing Lair.
The Three Dragons encounter is composed of facing Firemaw, Ebonroc and Flamegor all together in the Crimson Laboratories.
Fighting The Three Dragons[]
Kill Order[]
It is recommended that the kill order is as follows:
- Ebonroc - Due to the stacking Heal Reduction Debuff.
- Flamegor - Casts Immolate which knocks back melee
- Firemaw - Increases Fire Damage taken by Raid.
Positioning[]
Tanks will position all Three Dragons into the back of the room between the two centre pillars. Each Tank should have their backs towards each corner in the alcove, meaning they wont suffer from knockback. The Main Tank will take Firemaw and Ebonroc and the Off-Tank will take Flamegor. DPS should be not be doing any damage to prevent ripping threat during the position of the Bosses.
Stress[]
Each Dragon will gain a stack of Stress per Yard away from their lair or kin, resulting in the need to stack them close together.
Wing Buffet[]
All Three Dragons will cast Wing Buffet, a conal ability causing a small amount of damage and knocking Players back in front of the caster.
Ebonroc[]
Shadow Flame[]
Inflicts Shadow damage to enemies in a cone in front of the caster and applies the Shadow Flame effect: Deal Shadow damage every second for 8 seconds.
Applies a healing reduction to the Tank which stacks. Shadow Flame applies stacks in increments of 6. Each stack reduces healing received by 5% upto 100% (20 Stacks). Tanks must communicate to effectively taunt swap Ebonroc before or at 20 stacks.
Shadow of Ebonroc[]
When the target is melee damaged Ebonroc restores health.
Flamegor[]
Shadow Flame[]
Inflicts Shadow damage to enemies in a cone in front of the caster and applies the Shadow Flame effect: Deal Shadow damage every second for 8 seconds.
Fire Nova[]
Fire Nova Inflicts Fire damage to nearby enemies
Enrage[]
Enrage causes Flamegor to increase Attack and movement speed by 50%. Periodically applies Immolate to a target. This effect has a 2 second cooldown.
Immolate[]
Immolate can be cast in and outside of Enrage by Flamegor. Unleashes a Blast Wave around the Tank. Dealing damage and knocking nearby Raid members away (Melee DPS).
Firemaw[]
Shadow Flame[]
Inflicts Shadow damage to enemies in a cone in front of the caster and applies the Shadow Flame effect: Deal Shadow damage every second for 8 seconds.
Flame Buffet[]
Inflicts Fire damage to all enemies and increases the Fire damage they take by 1% for 20 seconds. This effect stacks.
